Types of stroboscopes
What is a stroboscope? It is a device that makes fast movements visible against a dark background by means of flashes of light. These are usually movements that the human eye cannot detect. The flashes are emitted at regular intervals, creating a series of still images.
Flash stroboscopes
A rough classification is as follows:
- High-precision speed measurement using optical methods
- Measured in no time: simple and efficient one-handed operation of Movistrob industrial stroboscopes
- High quality and unbeatable value for money thanks to constant customer dialogue
Whether a movement needs to be slowed down visually or brought to a complete standstill, BBE offers a comprehensive range of products tailored to all motion analysis requirements.
Analog stroboscopes
- Quick and easy detection of trends and fluctuations in the measured value
- Simple and quick overview of the entire measuring range
- Low risk of thermal and mechanical overload thanks to the device's robust design
This analog version of our stroboscope series offers the possibility of transferring clear and selected rotational and oscillation frequencies to your selected object using integrated light flash technology, allowing you to keep your machines in optimal condition at all times, quickly rectify faults, and avoid consequential damage.
Xenon stroboscopes
- Unsurpassed in achieving maximum brightness
- modern, daylight-like light spectrum
- High-quality and sharp image display
- Long product cycles, high vibration resistance, low failure rates thanks to robust construction
The Xenon series of Movistrob light flash stroboscopes offers you all this. The vibration and shock resistance of our stroboscopes opens up a wide range of possible applications for carrying out regular checks, maintenance, or troubleshooting, enabling you to optimize your production process.
Portable stroboscopes
- easy handling
- One-handed operation possible thanks to low weight
- High portability, especially in areas that are difficult to access
Portable light flash stroboscopes from BBE are equipped with LED or xenon flash tubes and are available in both digital and analog form, offering easy handling for every area of use and application.
Digital stroboscopes
- Automatic measuring range detection
- High input voltage range and therefore minimal influence on the circuit and measurement
- high measurement accuracy
- Low risk of thermal and mechanical overload due to the device's robust construction
- Fewer reading errors thanks to excellent readability of the digital display
Digital stroboscopes are constructed from digital circuits. Information and measured values are then transmitted to the user via an LCD display. Such measuring devices are characterized by a high input voltage range. Unlike other devices, this means that there is only a minor influence on the circuit and measurement. The precise indication of the measured value in the form of a digital sequence of digits also largely eliminates reading and data transmission errors.
LED strobes
- Operation possible even in low ambient light thanks to high-performance LEDs
- low failure rates and long service life
- Extremely long and almost unlimited brightness, as well as adaptable to external circumstances
- Stepless brightness adjustment
- very slight differences in flash intensity between individual flashes
In particularly diverse areas of application, such as the printing and paper industry, aircraft and shipbuilding, research and development, and mechanical and plant engineering, the use of LED stroboscopes for inspection, control, and maintenance, as well as for general non-contact measurement of rotational speeds and fault detection, is indispensable today.
Stationary stroboscopes
- Transfer of rotational and vibration frequencies to the selected object using integrated flash technology
- Machines always in optimal condition and rapid fault detection and rectification thanks to modern stroboscope technology
- Prevention of machine and product faults as well as consequential damage due to defects through the possibility of early and preventive commissioning of machines and systems
Industrial stroboscopes directly from the manufacturer
- Ongoing and short-term opportunities for optimizing and improving production facilities
- Make extremely high speeds visible in slow motion or bring them to a standstill
- Adaptation of multiple work processes within a short period of time through simple handling
How does a stroboscope work?
The stroboscopic effect creates optical illusions in viewers, which are generally attributable to the afterimage effect of the human retina. The stroboscope was originally developed in the 19th century and used to animate images. Today, however, the possible applications of an industrial stroboscope go much further.
Motion analysis in slow-motion dynamics with Movistrob industrial stroboscopes from BBE
- Easier handling thanks to contactless measurement options
- Consider decision-relevant information more closely for appropriate and reliable consideration.
Speed measurement as an important reference point in a wide range of applications
- Non-contact measurement technology is particularly suitable for hard-to-reach areas or small objects.
- No retroactive effect is exerted on the object to be measured.
- Measurement during ongoing machine and production processes
Stroboscopes as part of the inspection system
- Inspection and control of the entire track width
- Preventing errors and fixing them efficiently
- Perform pressure inspection during the ongoing production process
Quality from the manufacturer: Surface inspection with stroboscopes from BBE
- Precise quality assurance thanks to optical inspection of surfaces
- Safe and reliable stroboscopic operation, even at low speeds
Visualization of vibrations and faulty processes
- storable measured values
- Can be used at the customer's site or in-house
- Non-contact measurement technology is particularly suitable for hard-to-reach areas or small objects.
Optical freezing or slow-motion dynamics for visualizing fast motion sequences
- Visualization of fast motion sequences
- Efficient tool for monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining industrial machines or systems
- Precise measurement on highly complex, difficult-to-access, and high-speed systems
